MERDEKA CELEBRATION

My company had a Merdeka Celebration today in the office. All of the employees are being treated to a nice traditional Nasi Lemak for lunch. Games and small events followed after our lunch.

I actually finished work this morning at 9am and the celebration starts at 4.30pm. I was invited by my own team manager to come and enjoy the celebration coz to some people its not a lot of sleep between the hours. Arrived home at 11am, slept straightaway and woke up at 2pm, and came straight to office. Everyone in office was surprised to see me being able to make it for the celebration.

Games included making as many words as possible using the word "INDEPENDENCE". I managed to come out with 17 words. One of my colleague came out with 18 words so I didnt manage to win the event prize. There were also best dress for male and female. Unfortunately, I didnt win any prizes also, only consolidation prizes.
The best of all is we didnt have any fireworks display in the office. hahaha... thats just too bad...

Finally, MERDEKA --- MERDEKA --- MERDEKA!!!!!

LOST CHILDREN?

Everyday when I go to shopping malls such as Jusco or 1U or Giant, there is always announcements about lost children. Seriously, I have no idea how these Malaysian parents can even afford to lose their kids for a few seconds/minutes.

These examples of parenting is just BAD and APPAULING... its like you never know if your children is kidnapped or lost on the way or something. Parents first priority is on the family especially when you have own children. Losing sight or not taking care of the children is just totally a disaster waiting to happen. Lost children will be crying and crying and running around totally shocked and frightened.

The older kids are the smarter ones. Eventhough they are scared and frightened, I am surprised that they managed to go to the Information Centre and claimed to be lost. This is where the announcements come in place. Sometimes the funny part is that the announcements repeat more than 5 times for a particular child and still no parent went to collect their child back. What happens? The husband and wife goes shopping and totally forgotten that they have children to take care of...

Well, to those readers that have children, here are a few pre-cautionary steps to take when going shopping:-
1) Always walk with the child.
2) Always hold the child's hand.
3) Always keep sight of the child.
4) Always be tentative on the child.

Be good parents and dont leave those children of yours go astray. Its a bad sign when it happens.

A DAY AT KLCC

It was a fine day when I finished work at 9am. Not really tired and was excited to go to KLCC to meet up with a friend of mine, Syafique. Went home and slept for a while, then left the house at 2pm for the KTM and Putra LRT. Managed to arrive KLCC at 4pm.

I was sitting at the concourse area waiting for either a SMS or a call of the meeting place. Managed to receive the call and we headed for quite a few places around KLCC. We walked outside at the waterfall busy chit-chatting. After feeling some sweat coming out, we headed straight back for the air-cond.

Had our nice lunch of chicken chop - nope its not at Chilis - but at the food court... We then walked up to the top floor and entered the Merdeka Gallery. It was our first time entering and thought we had to pay for it - we entered slowly in case the guards stopped us... when nothing happens, we walked and looked at the photo galleries of ancient KL including the old Subang Intl Airport.

After the gallery, we went to Times bookshop to browse on some magazines. When the day became dark, we decided to call it a day and went home.

WORST COFFEE HOUSE SERVICE

I went to SS15 Station One Coffee House (near Taylors College) tonight for dinner with a friend of mine. When we sat on a table, there was no service at all for more than 5 minutes. We just sat there like we didnt exist at all. The waiters and waitresses didnt even notice us. We were about to leave already but then I manually call one of the waiters and finally, we have a menu to look at. Some of the waiters and waitresses were free chatting and didnt even notice us. What kind of service is this?!? This is very very poor service despite so many customers there. We ordered some food, ate, then left. We will never step foot into this coffee house again or any other branches. Quality of service is unbearably poor and bad. This is the website of the coffee house: http://www.station1.com.my/ I have managed to filled up the feedback/complaint form in the website.

WESTERN FOOD

When I first came to KL, I have been visiting quite a few of the popular western restaurants here. Restaurants such as Secret Recipe, TGIF, Manhattan Fish Market, Chilis, and a few more. Some differs in environment and atmosphere, different preparation of the foods, personalization of service, and many more. Lately, I went to Chilis at 1-Utama.

I ordered the grilled lamb (as in photo) and it was delicious. Other foods that we ordered were sandwiches, chicken, starters, platters, etc. It was very nice and an enjoyable moment.

Other than food, I am a regular of Starbucks Coffee. The regular place I go to is about 10 minutes drive from my place and located at Kepong Jusco. I would usually go there with my laptop and orders either a cake or a drink. All the baristas know me quite well already. Usually, I will be going there for surfing, chatting, and downloading of mp3.

Just a bit of extra update on what I do on my OFF days... :):)

TAILGATING: FUN?

Many of the Malaysian drivers here tailgate almost everyday on highways, streets, and even on residential roads. Reasons? They think its fun! Rushing for anything? NO!! Then still, why do they drive like that?

Everyday, when I am on the roads, I always witness tailgaters along LDP and many major highways. Tailgate simply means driving one own's car to a minimal distance to the car in front at a speed of 100+ km/h. This will definitely scare the shit out of the driver in front. What to do? Either you are slow and hogging up the fast lane, then you will need to move to the middle lane safely and slowly - dont panic and make sure you look at the side mirrors first and signal. I noticed many dont even bother to look and signal and just change lane. This mostly is due to the frustration and panic of the driver caused by the tailgater behind.
Sometimes, eventhough the car in front is fast, the tailgater will always try to speed up faster and will usually flash or horn. What I noticed is some dont bother and drive on at his/her speed, some do stupid stunts such as braking abruptly, or braking slowly to slow down the tailgater.

Everyday I read in newspapers about road accidents. There is so much about road accidents that I dont usually care about it anymore. Why? Most of the accidents are caused by stupid and crazy stunt driving, negligent drivers, and of coz tailgaters. When I witness such accidents occur, I dont know why the public would even want to assist/help them when the accidents is caused by themselves. I would treat them like a "lesson learnt but too late to avoid." I usually dont care when tailgate accidents happen - its too late to stop them and they dont think. All they think of is that tailgating is fun.

Tailgating is a very stupid and deadly driving to do on the roads. If you are one of those tailgaters, make sure you think twice of driving in such manner and stop tailgating.

Drive safe, think of other drivers too on the roads.
