Being Idle for Quite a While

By Ken

Hello Everyone. It seems that this blog has been quite idle for quite some time already. I myself have been moving here and there too and difficult to find a suitable Internet connection to even check my emails. As a matter of fact, I have not check emails in more than 2 weeks. Well, currently, I am working in Deloitte at Damansara Uptown 1 as IT Administrator. Just started few weeks ago and is quite enjoying the work even though the workload is a lot. Also, the Internet here blocks quite a few ‘addictive’ websites and software such as MSN, skype, online MSN, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and a few other software and sites. This is the reason why I have not been checking emails or being online or doing something online.

Thanks to my 2 contributors that have added some new entries to make the blog flowing nice and smooth. I hope that the readers and the so-called ‘regular’ readers have not run away though because this blog has been idle for quite some time due to some unforeseen circumstances.

Well, this entry is being updated by my friend on my behalf since I am not able to update blogs too… lol.

Steve Irwin Day

By: Veni

Today marks Steve Irwin Day. Of course in Australia that means a lot, especially at the Australia Zoo that Steve called home and which now, the responsibility of continuing its legacy, rests on the shoulders of Steve’s widow Terri and young daughter Bindi.

I’ve never met Steve Irwin but I was horrified to learn about his death after I had grown fond of his zany antics on telly. What I liked most about Steve, The Crocodile Hunter, was that he really revolutionized watching TV documentaries.

He made me want to care about scaly creatures, even though I may not want to go out and hug a croc and go so far as to call it a “beauty,” I wouldn’t be buying any crocodile hangbags.
Steve made wildlife shows not boring.

The fact that he died while filming a show is testimony to his infectious passion and his determination to ensure that people, his viewers, and the world were up to the mark when it came to understanding all the animals that live in our world.

He was never one of those celebrity figureheads, and even if he did do a movie he did it to raise awareness. It was never about Steve, it was always about the animals that he loved dearly, and it is people like him that we should remember and admire.

Steve may have been a ‘celebrity’ but never once have I ever read anything scandalous or controversial about him. Watching the memorial tapes of him right after his death it was equally touching to see him with his family.
He loved his wife, he loved his kids and thankfully Bindi has inherited his passion for wildlife and continues to follow in her father’s footsteps. There was some criticism about her taking over so young but it was her choice and I certainly don’t think her mother Terri forced her into it.
It was also amazing to see Terri and Steve together. They looked like they had such a great relationship, and I think even behind the cameras they were the same as they were on. Steve really gives guys a good name. And if you have to ask where have all the good men gone? I think, for this one time, I can say: to Heaven and yeah I'm proud to say that I know 2 of them in earth, my Dad and dear Krish.

WHERE IS K? WHERE IS S? WHERE IS V?

By SS

Ken, The Blog has been relatively quiet over the past few days. Let me take the opportunity to update all you readers out there. The owner of this blog got a new job and enjoying and loving every minute of it. Plus, he has a new laptop. I am so happy that he has finally got his dream job and let me tell you this, he has been aiming for this job for a long time.

Recently, I went for a job interview as a Copywriter (just trying my luck as a copywriter. Writing jobs are very competitive in Malaysia and openings are not many!). The interview went well but I will only hear from the Senior Executive this coming week.

After the interview I took my nephew to McDonald's. I bought him a Happy Meal set and I told him that when I was young, I used to buy the Happy Meal set, too, and complete with the toys and all.

"McDonald's was invented when you were young?" was his exact words when he responded to me.

"Of course, you think I am THAT old," I answered back.

Aiyoh, feel so old when he asked me that question.

I do not know where Veni is, but I guess she is busy with her work. That is the update for now. Oh yes, if you have been a long time CuriousSyaf reader, you can login with your password to read the archives!
